Established in 1998, our department endeavors to cultivate adept software professionals with a robust foundation in computer science and proficient programming skills tailored to tackle real-world challenges. Recognized under the DBT Star Scheme in 2016 to promote Bioinformatics, and subsequently elevated to DBT Star Status in 2019, we are committed to fostering interdisciplinary activities that enrich student learning experiences.
We take pride in offering a comprehensive educational approach at our department, which encompasses industry-ready undergraduate (UG) programs along with two postgraduate (PG) programs. Our programs focus on delving into the fundamental principles of computer science, with a strong emphasis on the theoretical underpinnings of programming. However, we don’t stop at theory; instead, we believe in providing our students with ample opportunities for practical application in relevant social and business contexts.
Through internships and projects, students within our department engage in hands-on learning experiences.
